FAQ

Everything people ask us before their first pair. Still stuck? Write to hello@louloucup.com — a real person answers, usually within one business day.

Choosing your pair

Three things: your flow, the cut you like, and your size. Heavy days need a heavy-flow style; light days and spotting need less. Most women end up owning three to five pairs so they're covered across a whole cycle without doing laundry every night.

Our heavy-flow styles absorb up to 40–50 ml — roughly four to five regular tampons. Light-flow styles hold less and are made for the beginning and end of your period, spotting, or backup.

We run XXS to XXL — eleven sizes. Go by your usual underwear size, and if you're between two, size up: period underwear needs to sit flat against your body to work, and a pair that digs in is a pair that leaks.

Measurements for every size are in our size guide. If you'd rather not measure, email us your usual underwear size and we'll tell you what to order.

Yes. A lot of women wear the light-flow styles for discharge, spotting, or the days they're expecting their period and don't want to be caught out.

Yes, the heavy-flow styles. They have a longer absorbent zone that runs further front to back, which is what you want in those first weeks.

Wearing them

Eight to twelve hours, depending on your flow and the style. On a heavy day you may want to change once during the day; on a lighter day one pair will take you from morning to night.

Yes, and it's one of the best reasons to switch. The heavy-flow styles have a wider, longer absorbent zone specifically so you can sleep in any position without worrying.

Not if you're wearing the right absorbency for your flow. The leaks people describe almost always come from wearing a light style on a heavy day. If you're unsure, start heavier.

Yes. They're breathable and hold their shape when you move. For leggings or anything fitted, our seamless styles are the ones you want — no visible lines.

No. They're cut like real underwear, not like a medical product. Our seamless styles disappear under skinny jeans and fitted dresses.

No. The lining wicks moisture away from your skin, which is what causes odour with disposables. Rinse them after wearing and they stay fresh.

Washing and care

Rinse in cold water until the water runs clear, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with your normal detergent. Hang or lay flat to dry.

Fabric softener, bleach, the tumble dryer, and ironing. Softener in particular coats the fibres and stops them absorbing — it's the single most common reason a pair stops performing.

Yes, once you've rinsed them. A wash bag is a good idea to protect the elastics.

Two to three years with normal use. Ours have been worn and washed by customers since 2017, so we're not guessing.

Ordering and delivery

Orders leave our California warehouse within 48 hours on business days. Delivery takes another 2 to 7 business days depending on where you are — closer to 2 on the West Coast, closer to 7 on the East Coast.

No. We're a French brand, but your order ships from our warehouse in California. No customs, no import duties, no three-week wait.

Free on orders over $60. Below that it's a flat $4.95.

Not from this store. We ship within the United States only.

If you're in Europe, you're in luck — Louloucup started in France and our French store ships across Europe. It's in French, but the products are the same ones. louloucup.com

If it hasn't shipped yet, yes. Email hello@louloucup.com as fast as you can and we'll catch it if we can.

Yes, and it's automatic — the more pairs in your cart, the lower the price per pair. It's also how most people buy, because one pair doesn't cover a full cycle.

Returns

Unworn, unwashed pairs with the hygiene liner still in place can be returned within 30 days for a full refund.

No — and we'd rather explain why than hide it in the small print. Period underwear sits against your skin and absorbs blood. Once a pair has been worn it can't go back into stock, and it can't go to anyone else. No brand that takes hygiene seriously resells them.

So we put the effort somewhere more useful: helping you get it right the first time. Start with the size guide, and if you're still unsure, write to hello@louloucup.com with your flow, your usual underwear size and what you normally wear on your heaviest day. We'll tell you exactly what to order. It takes us two minutes and saves you a return.

Exchange it — that one's on us. As long as the pair is unworn, unwashed and still has its hygiene liner, tell us within 30 days which size you need instead and we'll cover the return shipping both ways.

If you'd rather have your money back than a different size, that's fine too, but return shipping comes out of the refund.

Email hello@louloucup.com with a photo and your order number. We'll replace it, no argument.

Write to us. The policy above exists for hygiene reasons, not because we don't care — and we would much rather hear from you than have you quietly disappointed with something you paid for.

Tell us what went wrong at hello@louloucup.com. We read every message ourselves and we look at each one on its own terms. We can't promise a specific outcome in advance, but we can promise you'll get a real person who wants to sort it out.
